Julie Hendrickson, MA, LMHC

Welcome to Seattle Psychotherapy Services, the psychotherapy practice of Julie Hendrickson. I have been providing psychotherapy to individuals (adults & adolescents), couples, and groups in the Seattle area for over 17 years.

Education
I received my Masters Degree in Counseling Psychology from Antioch University Seattle in 1995 and a Bachelors Degree from the University of Vermont in 1984.  My education in psychology has continued in the years since and includes training in group dynamics and psychodrama, training as a couples therapist from the John Gottman Institute, addictions training, certification as a sexual minority mental health specialist, and training in psychoanalytic psychotherapy.  I am currently a candidate in an advanced training program at the Northwest Psychoanalytic Society (NPS) in Seattle.

I have extensive exper-
ience counseling adults
and adolescents in both
community and private
settings.  I currently treat
adults and adolescents,
individuals and couples in
my private practice in the
Madison Park neighborhood
of Seattle.

My experience includes, but is not limited to, treating depression & anxiety, relationship problems, grief & loss, chemical dependency, eating disorders, weight loss & management, chronic pain & physical/emotional concerns, and issues of identity (i.e. sexual orientation, career satisfaction, self-confidence).


Professional Affiliations
I am a member of the Northwest Family Development Center affliated with the Center for Object Relations (COR) which provides training to psychotherapists in the community who work with mothers, infants, and families to promote healthy early attachment and emotional development.  I am also a member of the Child Therapy Association (CTA) in Seattle, which provides support and training to psychotherapists who work with children, adolescents, and families.  Additionally, I am a member of the Northwest Alliance for Psychoanalytic Study (NWAPS), a group that provides workshops, trainings, and support to psychotherapists interested in the application and benefit of psychoanalysis and psychoanalytic thinking to the community.
